Furniture was established in 1985 in Thomasville, Ga by Charles W. Bass,
Sr., who worked for another local furniture company prior to. He was their top salesman and had a pretty large
customer base who liked dealing directly with him. He decided to see if that customer base would
follow him to his own business, so he started Champion Furniture.
Using his own personal funding, he quickly added many new accounts.
He did in-store financing, which is our policy today.
His sales went up to about $50,000 per month and he became a major
player in the local furniture business.
In 1992
Charles Bass, jr. became his partner and added his expertise to the
business, including the computerization of the operation. Also, he
reworked collection policies and procedures. Account receivable
collection went up and the company prospered. In 1995, Charles Bass Jr,
now sole owner due to the retirement of Bass, Sr., moved the business to
Atlanta, Ga where it is currently doing business.
A computer and
Information Technology services branch was incorporated into the business in
2001.
Champion Unlimited Furniture operates as a sole proprietorship and
has no share holders. and sell furniture, appliances, electronic,
computers and information technology services. Bass, jr., has been working
in the computer industry for 13 years, and is an IT professional by trade.
